In the 4th installment of the Mission Impossible series, Ethan Hunt and his team are racing against time to track down a dangerous terrorist named Hendricks, who has gained access to Russian nuclear launch codes and is planning a strike on the United States. An attempt by the team to stop him at the Kremlin ends in a disaster, with an explosion causing severe destruction to the Kremlin and the IMF being implicated in the bombing, forcing the President to invoke Ghost Protocol, under which the IMF is disavowed, and will be offered no help or backup in any form. Hey dears,
Well I have to say one thing about this movie.
Tom. Cruise. Can. Sprint. FAST. I'm just like, if anything could inspire me to run, it would be like,
Hey, maybe one day I'll be able to like Tom Cruise did! Sure, like that is ever going to happen. :P
Okay, well I really enjoyed myself. It was an edge-of-your-seat type movie (like the whole time), and for the most part, it had a  believably realistic feeling. But for the other part.... slightly cheesy.
In cheesy, I mean driving a car off 4 stories, landing straight down, and even though the air bags did go off, still.... he should have had a completely busted face. (There were a few cuts, but I mean, like completely smashed in nose, black eyes, etc..) Sorry. That was my realistic side ranting out for justice.
But besides that one part, I was cool. It was fairly violent, a lot of it being hand-to-hand fights, and guns. There was one slightly suggestive part, when Jane (YES!my name!) has to "seduce" a certain bad guy(and she's wearing a pretty exposing evening gown), and a part when Ethan kisses Jane.
There was one use of sh*t, and several uses of God's name (including Jesus).
One part, (it's in the trailer) when Ethan has to climb up the side of a building (up to the 130 floor).
I swear, it was so nerve racking :D I mean, you know of course there is NO possible way that he was going to die. But still...
And I have to mention Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg. LOVE THEM SO MUCH.
For some strange reason (I still have no reason why) I didn't want to like Jeremy Renner. No clue.
But he was so awesome. And Simon Pegg was the comical relief.
I am so excited for The Avengers now (Jeremy Renner is Hawkeye).
So does it deliver? Yes. Definitely.

Not a review today :(

Hey guys,
Sorry about not posting anything lately (and AHA! I just remembered what I am going to upload at the end of this post.) There are not going to be any reviews in this post (like the title said), so, I apologize. I really haven't been reading that much, for the lack at the library, and restrictions. But yesterday I did read around 50 pages of The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, and  I am loving it (I think it's fantastic)( so I will be doing a review on that probably around 2 weeks(??) from now....). I think it is hysterical, actually, and I can't wait to read more today.
Lately, I have been compiling a list of contemporary books (aka books that do not count for school), and so far I have :

Insurgent (sequel to Divergent x))
The Drowned Vault by ND Wilson
Everneath by Brodi Ashton
Legend by Marie Lu

And that is about it (I think). So any suggestions would be very welcome!!!

Haha, so I really haven't ever watched the FX tv series Glee, but last week my sista showed me this performance with Matt Bomer (White Collar). :) I've watched it close to 100x.

I really love it : Somebody that I used to know (original by Gotye).
Please pray for me. I have been having a really hard time lately, just with various stuff. But I would truly appreciate it. :)

THE HUNGER GAMES MOVIE REVIEW

Oh wow, well let me say : I have been counting down the days, ever since I read the book and watched the trailers. And just my luck, I saw it on Friday, opening night!

Ok, so I really don't think I need to add a synopsis, but for you who don't know the plot, here's the link to my review on the book  Here!
So here are the quick facts on the content:

 Violence. Violent. Very, extremely violent.
The editing was all very fast and choppy, but none-the-less, there was some gore, especially at the beginning of the Games, dubbed "The BloodBath

(quite literally!!)
*Mild Spoilers* Boys get mauled by muttant dogs, girls get speared, and one dies from bee stings.
A rather passionate kiss, then a kiss on the cheek. Katniss and Peeta hug.

The whole premise is God-less, so there is definition of what is wrong and right: such as Katniss and Gale think the whole Games and the Capitol are sick, but since Katniss' goal is to stay alive, she will kill. And does.

But the positive elements:
Katniss volunteers for her 12 year-old sister Prim, facing almost certain death.
Peeta says, no matter what the Capitol does to him, he stills wants to be himself, to maintain his beliefs, no matter the circumstances.

Katniss hates what the Capitol stands for, what they are doing.

And what did I think ???? 

BRILLIANT. FAITHFUL. AMAZING. SICK. 

And that was the fastest 2.5 hours of my life It was definitely the most faithful adaption I have ever seen. Definitely. Jennifer Lawrence defines Katniss' soul and spirit. She embodied her character completely.     

And Josh was the very soul of Peeta. I mean, how could anyone bad talk the  acting??? Impossible!
The Careers (Alexander Ludwig, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jack Quaid, and Leven Rambin).. brutal and perfect and sick.
Rue! Prim! (Amandla Stenberg and Willow Shields) Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), Effie (Elizabeth Banks), and Haymitch (Woody Harrelson)!! Gale (Liam Hemsworth)!
FALLEN IN LOVE. Going to join my collection ASAP.
So my advice :

Catch this in the theater if possible, and BRING TISSUES! YOU WILL NEED THEM! Prepare to be blown out of your mind!!!!!!!

Rating : 20/10!!!!!!!

Hugo

Well. Well. Well. I've been waiting for a longgggg time to see Hugo, having read the book (right this way!) and loving the looks of the trailer. I was so thrilled to hold the Redbox DVD in my hands as we drove home that Friday night.....
So, without any further ado, here we go.

The Bad :
Living in a railway station secretly wouldn't be easy. And as the circumstances allow, Hugo had to steal food to survive. You see the act when he sneaks a bottle of milk and a croissant (which looked tortuously good, I might add). The Station Inspector talks to another man about his (the man) wife leaving him, and such, but it went completely over my 11-year-old brother's head, so not much worry there. The Station Inspector is rough with any parent-less children he finds around. If I told you anymore, it would be pointless to watch the film, frankly.

The Good :
Hugo has an undying faith in his father, and both he and Isabelle believe that everyone and everything has a purpose; Hugo helps mend Papa Georges broken heart.

My Thoughts :
Wow. Wow. I mean, WOW! So I had pretty high expectations, being nominated 11 times, including Best Picture, so you can guess my feelings. And Asa looking so darn perfect for Hugo, not even funny.
I was not disappointed! The acting was first class, the cast consisting of : Asa Butterfield as Hugo, Chloë Grace Moretz as Isabelle, Sir Ben Kingsley as George Meliès and Sacha Cohen as Station Inspector. Now the visual effects. Stunning. Amazing. Mind blowing.
The music was beautiful, and I liked it because at scenes where it could be intense, it made it unsuspenseful.

So, get, watch, and love. It is the best kid's movie I've seen in a really long time, and I thought it was absolutely fabulous! (and if you live where there is a cheap theater, wait for it in 3D. Because that would be amazing.)

Dragon Flight - Jessica Day George

So sorry guys!!! I haven't blogged in awhile...
Wasn't the snow AHHHH-MAZING?! I enjoyed it so much.(so much fun, lobbing snowballs at siblings :) don't you think) ;)
Well, so here we are, with the sequel to Dragon Slippers (to see my review, click here). Fasten your seat belts, here we go.....

Main Synopsis
With the Dragon Wars over, Creel finds herself bored with life as a seamstress. Then word comes that a bordering country has been breeding dragons in preparation for an invasion. Never one to sit around, Creel throws herself headlong into an adventure that will reunite her with her dragon friend Shardas, pit her against a vicious new enemy and perhaps rekindle a friendship with Prince Luka that seems to have gone cold.

The Bad :
Kissing. That's about it. But I think that's not exactly what you call negative these days...
Violence. Battles near the end, dragon blood galore, and it made me rather sad :(
One of the counsel members (can't remember his name..) is a complete jerk. :)

The Good :
Creel returns once again as the humble seamstress / dragon savior, and she is strong, courageous, and  furious the way dragons are treated.  She stands up to the king for Shardas and Co..
Marta also returns as Creel's best friend, and is betrothed to Tobin, Luka's ex-bodyguard. I like her.
Luka... oh Luka.... he sounds so darn perfect, for crying out loud! But I still love him. He loves Creel, sadly, so no Luka for me :`(

My Thoughts :
Well, I enjoyed it, and it followed up well to Dragon Slippers. It was exciting and funny.
But it was just "enjoyed" not loved, because, something about J.D.G.'s writing style doesn't pull me in; but it has also not yet fallen under the curse of the first person- I want to kill her for thinking that!- type thing. Creel has not yet gotten annoying.... Which is a good thing, because I'll probably get Dragon Spear, the third and final installment to the trilogy, next time I'm at the library.
Total rating : 7/10
